Cure Our Kids

Cure Our Kids is a non profit charity dedicated to the cancer unit at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. The mission of this charity, which was founded in 2001, is to help improve the quality of life for children with cancer and for the families that love them and are caring for them. Though still relatively young itself this charity has already developed innovative support services for these children and their families as well as funding some extraordinary programs.

Medical treatment is only half of the childhood cancer solution according to the Cure Our Kids charity and their services are aimed at the aspects that are often overlooked in these diagnoses. They provide emotional support, promote psychological well being and offer financial support to help families get through all of which are just as important to the recovery process as the medical treatment.

February 15th is International Childhood Cancer Day, a day that aims to raise money and awareness for the cause enabling children all over the world to get the best possible treatment and care. A gold ribbon represents the day.

This year Cure Our Kids will be selling branded gold ribbons, the proceeds of which will go specifically to their vital work. A Cure Our Kids gold ribbon will only cost you $2 and that money will go towards making the lives of children with cancer much easier and help give them the strength to keep fighting. You can also jump online to make a donation.

Being a non-profit organisation Cure Our Kids is always in need of extra funding and volunteers. Particularly now, they are looking for as many volunteers as possible to jump on board and sell ribbons on February 15th, International Childhood Cancer Day. This is a great day that affords so many opportunities – you get to meet a lot of fantastic new people all the while actually making a difference in the lives of countless children and their families.

So please take some time out this February to help raise awareness for this essential initiative by wearing a Cure Our Kids gold ribbon, donating or volunteering and encourage others to do the same.
