Locally Roasted Coffee, Crafted for the Discerning Australian Taste

Harris Indulges the Taste Buds of Coffee Lovers Around Australia

Australia’s coffee culture is booming. We have embraced the dark elixir more wholeheartedly than most countries in the world and Australia has now become renowned for crafting its own premium blends. We like to enjoy quality coffee that has been made in our own backyard for our own distinctive taste.

The global trend of wanting to know where our produce comes from and the process it goes through is rapidly growing in Australia and with more than 5.9 million Aussies waking up with a cup of coffee each day it’s no wonder we take our coffee obsession seriously.

Harris has been roasting and blending coffee beans locally to suit Australian tastes for over 130 years. With great reverence for the bean, Harris takes considered care from bean to cup and the expert Master Roasters and Blenders are part of the process every step of the way. With 3.5 million Aussie coffee drinkers admitting they start the day disgruntled if they don’t get a coffee, the role of Harris’ Master Roaster and Blender has never been more important.

“Australians have become sophisticated coffee drinkers and our deep love of the brewed bean has given us a more discerning taste for what we most enjoy in terms of flavour and the origins of coffee beans. Harris creates unique blends and flavours specifically suited to the Australian palate, we take into consideration the seasonal changes that affect the coffee bean, which means we’re trialling and tasting the beans and blends every day,” said Daniel Vergnano, Harris Master Roaster.

“As a nation we have become known for offering some of the world’s best produce, from olive oil to cheese and wines that are the envy of the world.  Gone are the days when drinking Italian coffee was deemed a luxury, now Australia is producing coffee that challenges some of the best blends around the globe,” he said.

All of Harris’ beans are roasted and blended in Australia which drastically enhances everything about the bean including the taste, quality, freshness, shelf-life and flavour dynamic.

Harris Coffee is passionate about and delivering the highest quality to ensure you enjoy the perfect cup of coffee at home every day.  The Harris range consists of both ground coffee and fresh beans in six varieties – Espresso, Premium, Black Label, Signature Blend, Reserve Colombian and Decaffeinated.  For more information about Harris’ range, visit www.harriscoffee.com.au/

Top Tips for Making the Perfect Cup of Coffee At Home

  • The best way to keep coffee is in an opaque, airtight container in a dark, cool and dry place – like a pantry. Try and keep it away from moisture – especially wet spoons!
  • Don’t refrigerate or freeze your coffee beans because it will affect the coffee’s oils and absorb flavours from other foods
  • Always use fresh coffee. It’s better to buy coffee as you need it rather than buy a lot in bulk as the fresher the coffee is, the better it will taste
  • Only put the amount of beans you plan to use into the top of the grinder and don’t grind them until just before you’re about to extract the coffee. It’s best to use your new coffee grinds within 10 mins of grinding them
  • Plunger coffee should brew for 3 – 4 minutes – leaving it longer will only make it bitter. If you prefer it strong, try adding an extra tablespoon of coffee instead

OOh, I’m salivating. My hubby is my first and only choice. Not being a coffee connoisseur until my hubby turned my tastebuds. I can see us now sitting by our open fire, nibbling away at this fine array of goodies, experimenting with all the luscious flavours. Coffee in hand for some indulgences like the Gumnut Chocolates Mixed Truffle Chocolates and Sweetness the Patisserie Caramel Bon Bons. But of course our tendencies would lean to a fine white wine to share in the flavours of Lynwood Preserves Roasted Red Capsicum Relish with scrumptious cracker bickies. Hubby, my rock, my confidante. Who better to share fine dining with than your best buddy.

I would share it with my elderly neighbour who has been so kind to our family. My husband and I are both currently unemployed, so providing for our family of five right now is rough. Our neighbor brings us big pots of curry, homemade bread, and “leftover” things in her cupboard that she is not using. Most of these “leftover” items just happen to be unopened boxes of treats that she knows that our kids rarely get. She is a gem.

Either way it will be awesome, a little bit of something for everyone OR maybe we could have a good old fashioned picnic.

Love this Harris Gourmet Hamper you see, to share with hubby and celebrate our upcoming 16th wedding anniversary.
Grab the hamper, and a rug, go for a picnic out in the scrub.
Chat, reminisce, relive all our beautiful memories of love.
Like this hamper full of gourmet surprises, we will indulge our senses, our passion, desires.
Our eyes meeting on our first date, coffee and triple chocolate brownies, has taken us on a exciting journey to date
As yummy as Sweetness The Patisserie White Chocolate Rocky Road that we eat, we have been blessed with two gorgeous kids and life is sweet.
Like a good port that ages with time, we will celebrate with Didgeridoonas Picnic Port, as our relationship has stood the test of time. Crooked Creek Cheese Biscuits, Lynwood Preserves Red Capsicum Relish, Mount Zero Kalamata Olives, Other Chef Quince Paste, Harris Ground expresso coffee these indulgences just to name a few will be a feast to celebrate our milestone and we would be delighted to consume.:)
Then we will finish off the day, toasting our love on our Lowe Wines Lowe Block 8 Shiraz 2011, while eating Gumnut Mixed Truffle Chocolates, watching the gorgeous sunset and celebrating the love that we have.

I’d spread it on the charcoal lavoche
To make a yummy sweet hors d’oeuvre

My mum and dad would be all over
    The Nullo Mountain Pinot Gris
They love a cheeky drink or two
    (or sometimes even three)

I wouldn’t even get to smell
    The brownies from Sweet Acres
But I’m sure my sister will tell me
    That they are amazing bakers.

And my in laws can’t survive the day
    Without their caffeine hit
I’d share the Harris coffee, but
    Only a little bit!

To win the gourmet hamper pack

I could never have imagined all those years ago, that I’d be diagnosed with one of the rarer forms of MS. and that he would give up nearly everything to look after me, and make it possible for me to stay living at home. I would share with my husband of 40 years as we both

My sister, as this would be a divine treat for our coffee breaks. Sharing these very delicous delights would be the icing on the cake.
