Today we introduce you to Good Company and Co. It’s run by Kate and Jarred, and if you’re in Ipswich, Queensland you may have already spotted them at a local market.
If you’re looking for a unique gift idea or some new home decor, these handmade succulent boxes are worth checking out.
Read on as Kate tells us more about the brand:
What do you sell?
We sell handmade succulent boxes using repurposed timber and succulent jars
How did you get started?
Well, we are crazy plant people! One day I found an old antique nail box and instantly knew I wanted to fill it with plants. I knew it couldn’t hold a lot of moisture so we planted it out using succulents. We got so much praise and so much interest in it that we decided to make them to sell!
Tell us about your local area and anything that makes it unique:
We live in Ipswich, not far from the cities centre. As an older area, we love admiring the beautiful old homes and the elaborate gardens that often surround them. It has definitely impacted our own home and inspired our own garden.
What has the support been like in the community?
Great, a lot of people have found us at the local markets in the area and have given us a lot of positive feedback.
What advice do you have for someone starting their own business?
We are still very much figuring it all out for ourselves, but I would say stick by your product or idea. Don’t change it every time you hit a roadblock. Back yourself and be confident in what you sell. Also, surround yourself with people that support your new venture.

What has been the biggest challenge?
Juggling family, being parents, our other jobs, and starting a new small business is daunting. But we love what we sell so we will keep pushing forward.
What is your number one product?
Definitely our small square boxes, they sell for $35 and make a great, easy gift idea for almost anyone.
Tell us about three other local businesses that you support:
The Cake Mobb – Antoinette makes not only beautiful cakes and cupcakes but the most delicious cake you’ve ever tasted!
Trophy Stop – As their name suggests they make trophies and awards but they also make great personalised gifts too!
Blade Maid – Rachel is a local barber here in Ipswich and she’s the best of the best. My husband and son are regulars of hers and they wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Please share your website and social media accounts:

I am a mother of four beautiful children. I can’t leave a book unfinished which equals a lot of late nights! When I’m not reading you can find me in the garden, or helping out at Beauty and Lace.
Really interesting. They would make lovely gifts.
