User Reviews: Almond Breeze (plus bonus recipe)

Many people are looking at milk substitutes these days and the range is getting amazing. I remember when the only real options were cows milk or soy milk, now there are a number of other substitutes that are both dairy and soy free.

Almond Breeze is the new offering from Blue Diamond Growers cooperative, the first grower owned cooperative with many of the growers being co-op members for generations; making for a lot of pride in their product.

There are some delicious varieties of Almond Breeze and they are all a much lighter addition to your day. Almond Breeze comes in: Original, Unsweetened, Unsweetened Vanilla, Unsweetened Almond and Coconut Blend, Unsweetened Almond and Cashew Blend and Chocolate.

A lot of testing went into the formulation of Almond Breeze to ensure that the finished product is smooth, delicious and creamy with just the right balance of taste and nutritional value.

Almond Breeze is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Lactose Free, high in calcium and low in sugar. A perfect alternative for those looking for a healthier lifestyle. The Unsweetened varieties have less than half the calories of skim and reduced fat milk, the Original and Chocolate varieties contain raw cane sugar.

Almond Breeze is perfect to drink on its own, as well as substituting in smoothies, baking and cooking.

  1. I did not like Almond Breeze milk unsweetened I needed it to be sweeter.
The berry and banana smoothie would be good with the almond milk.

  2. Thank you BeautyandLace and Blue Diamond Almond Breeze for this trial opportunity.
I was thrilled to receive the 1litre tetra pack of unsweetened Almond Milk. I immediately put it in the fridge so that I could enjoy it chilled. It is a very slightly cream coloured milk and pours like regular cow’s milk. Once I drink it, I can taste that it is unsweetened and I can taste the almonds in the milk. The smell is also a pleasant scent of almonds, which makes it yummy and appealing for me.
The biggest tick for me is the .3g of sugar for 250ml of milk. I like the idea of drinking unsweetened almond milk because I can add my own sweetener such as fruits or honey to it, if I want. On most days, I drank it just plain to enjoy the smooth flavour of unsweetened almond milk.
I also enjoyed using the almond milk in a banana strawberry blueberry smoothie which made a delicious and filling breakfast option.
I also liked using this almond milk in my morning porridge instead of my usual milk.

The options are limitless and you can substitute this low sugar milk for anything you want. I recommend this almond milk for anyone who wants to try something different and healthy, while still relishing the taste and nutrition from an unsweetened nut milk. Brilliant! Thank you!

  3. Thank you so much for allowing me to trial this Almond Breeze Almond Milk. I admit I was a little nervous about trying it as sometimes I dislike the taste of almonds so had just never bothered to try almond milk before however, I am delighted to say that I was pleasantly surprised with my findings. The taste was creamy but not overly so which is a good thing plus, there was definitely a taste of almonds but it was subtle and not too in my face so found I could even drink it by itself which I definitely can’t do with regular milk! I made porridge with mine and found it to be delicious and also used it in my tea and actually quite liked the taste. I haven’t tried it in a smoothie yet but can already guess at it being a perfect base due to it’s taste not being overpowering. Was rapt with the bottle that Blue Diamonds Almonds generously supplied with my Almond Breeze which will be perfect for when I do make my smoothie.
Blue Diamonds Almonds have created a really tasty milk that is versatile and healthy and I am happy to say it will be on my shopping list.
    Thanks again!

  4. Had never tried this brand before, but do drink almond milk. After popping it in the fridge overnight I made my usual banana smoothie for breakfast, I even used the handy shaker that was an added bonus that was not expected. Have to say this brand actually tasted much nicer than my usual even my hubby enjoyed it. Unsweetened is perfect for us as we usually make smooothies and the fruit is sweet enough, it was also great on cereal and in my cuppa… Some milks don’t work well with tea they overpower it this one was perfect
Thank you so much fo rthe opportunity to trial, and I have already purchased in my weekly shopping.
