January 11 saw Maria Sharapova host the global launch of the brand at Crown’s Riverwalk in Melbourne. The Australian Open saw Sugarpova stocked in Crown Towers Hotel and all of Crown’s convenience stores as well as David Jones stores, davidjones.com.au, Harris Farm and selected independent retailers for $5.99 per bag.
Maria Sharapova is a four times Grand Slam singles title winner and ranked the world number two by Women’s Tennis Association, she is the world’s highest earning sportswoman and a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. A percentage of Sugarpova’s sales will be donated to the Maria Sharapova Foundation which provides assistance programs for youth.
