User Reviews: MySmart Bars

Life has gotten pretty crazy of late so these delicious little snack bars sat on my desk for weeks, just waiting for me to decide the time was right to get snacking.

MySmart Bars are an excellent source of fiber and formulated without gluten, they are a protein bar without added sugar and packed with wholefoods.

Some days you just need that sweet little pick me up, whether it be the 10am or the 3pm slump. Pre-workout, post workout or just a bit of a boost.

MySmart Bars aren’t a meal replacement but they are nutritious, filling and a great sweet treat any time of the day. I snacked on one watching the netball on a freezing Friday night courtside, and I snacked on one waiting in the car for school pickup, and as I worked away at my desk.

There are two divine flavours of the MySmart Bars in Dark Chocolate and Coconut Cashew.

Coconut Cashew was beautifully flavoured. I was expecting crunchy nut pieces in the bar, similar to a muesli bar, but that was not the case. The texture is more of a baked bar, though not like cake. It’s hard to explain really. The flavour was amazing and the texture was different but easy to eat.

Dark Chocolate was rich and chocolatey but not the bitter after taste sometimes associated with dark chocolate. It shares the same texture as the Coconut Cashew.

Each MySmart Bar contains 150 calories or less, helping to stabilise blood sugar and fight the dreaded sugar cravings.

Ingredients for MySmart Bars are sustainably sourced, high quality and natural. Key ingredients include organic coconut oil and roasted nuts which not only provide a high level of protein but are also true wholefoods.

  1. I was lucky enough to be chosen to review these lovely bars. When I first read about them I thought they sounded perfect as I am trying to lose weight but find it hard to find that perfect afternoon snack. I received both a Dark Chocolate and Coconut Cashew bar and when opened they both had a lovely homemade look. They don’t appear like they have come of a large production line and are a decent size.

I decided to try the coconut cashew bar first as these are a couple of my favourite ingredients. Its’ appearance has shredded coconut plus lines of chocolate along the top and has a sort of weak vanilla taste. I found it slightly bland, still palatable, but would have preferred more cashew bits as the texture is rather smooth and the cashew taste a little lacking.

The Dark Chocolate one was the one that surprised me! I’m not a big chocolate fan and thought I would dislike this one, but I loved it. It is chocolate coloured with no added toppings. It isn’t bitter like you would expect and it has a lovely licorice after taste.

Both bars have a dense texture sort of like a chocolate brownie and are soft to the bite. Overall they make the perfect snack for in between meals or even breakfast on the run! The fact that they are natural and contain organic ingredients is an added bonus.

  2. Thankyou for the opportunity to trial your products.
Please forgive my negative feed BUT as I do not purchase this type of item I really have no comparison to compare it to.

I tend to shy away from health food bars due to sugar content etc.
My husband is a diabetic and found the dark chocolate one nice because of the lack of sugar.

The coconut and Hazel nut were not to my liking.
Thank you and I hope I haven’t upset you with my reply

  3. These are so delicious! I love the way they tasted and the way they provided me with a steady energy release. I liked both flavours equally – it’s nice to have variety. The texture was perfect – I wouldn’t change anything about these bars. They gave me energy as a snack and that is what I want in a convenient bar like this. They are perfect for something to eat while on the go or a sneaky snack at home with a cuppa! These bars don’t just look appealing to eat, they ARE great to eat! It may not be as good as just a banana but sometimes I crave just that extra something special but because I don’t eat junk food, these will be a perfect alternative to the fruit my loyal mandarin tree provides me.

  4. I was able to sample the MySmart Bars in both chocolate and Coconut Cashew.

The packaging looked nice and shiny and impressive. I was surprised when I opened the bars how smooth their texture was. They were really nice and soft to bite into and extremely easy to chew.

I tried the chocolate one first but was not really impressed with it. I didn’t like the taste of it as much as I thought I would.

I then tried the Coconut Cashew. This had small coconut pieces in the top of it. Again a nice smooth texture to bite into. Out of the two I liked the Coconut Cashew better and found the taste more appealing.

If they were cheaper to purchase I may consider it but for $53.90 a box I think this is too expensive.
