The 2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival fast approaches and it’s much closer than I thought with tickets for the highly anticipated carnival, host of the race that stops a nation, going on sale at 9am (AEST) Monday 9th July; both general admission and reserved seating tickets will be on sale.
Victoria Racing Club (VRC) Chief Executive Dale Montieth has just announced that children under 16 and accompanied by an adult will be admitted for free to Flemington on all four days of the 2012 Melbourne Cup Racing Carnival.
Free admittance for children provides value for money and relieves some of the financial pressure families face when attending the carnival, this will allow more families to attend and experience the excitement of actually being at one of the world’s greatest sporting spectacles. It also makes the 2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival more accessible to a broader range of the community.
The Flemington General Admission Season Pass has also recently been launched. The pass is available for $200 and is valued at over $560. It offers access to all Flemington racedays, including the four day Melbourne Cup Carnival.
The first 1500 people to purchase a General Admission or Reserved Seating ticket for the 2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival will also receive a complimentary $10 TAB betting voucher for use on-course at Flemington during the Carnival. This is a special offer limited to one voucher per person and terms and conditions do apply.
November 3 sees the 2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival commence with AAMI Victoria Derby Day, Emirates Melbourne Cup Day follows on November 6, Crown Oaks Day is November 8 and the Carnival closes with Emirates Stakes Day on November 10.
Melbourne Cup Carnival General Admission and Reserved Seating Tickets can be purchased from www.ticketmaster.com.au or by phoning 1300 136 122.

I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews. Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS!
