Recipe: Well Naturally Sugar-Free Chocolate Cake

From feedback received they decided to formulate a cooking chocolate for those who like to whip up a decadent dessert in their own kitchen.

Well Naturally Sugar-Free Dark Chocolate Melts were born, they are the sugar-free, naturally sweetened alternative to full-sugar cooking chocolate. These Melts are made with 70% cocoa and naturally sweetened with stevia, which is a plant-based sweetener with no calories and no impact on blood sugar levels. The brand have put together a recipe booklet of delicious dishes utilising their new sugar-free chocolate melts created by chocolate enthusiast Tanya Bartolini and we are lucky enough to be able to share some of them with you.

Who doesn’t love Chocolate Cake, and now there’s a much better-for-you option…

Ingredients:

• ½ cup low fat milk
• ½ cup butter, melted
• 3 cups almond meal
• ½ cup cocoa powder
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 5 tbsp Natvia
• 1 tsp instant coffee powder, dissolved in a little hot water
• 4 eggs, beaten
• 200g Well Naturally Sugar-Free dark chocolate melts
• 200ml low fat cream

Method:

Preheat oven to 150 degrees Celsius and butter and flour a loaf tin.

In a large bowl combine all of the dry ingredients, except for the dark chocolate melts.

In another large bowl combine all of the wet ingredients, except for the cream.

Transfer the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and using a fork mix well to ensure there are no lumps.

Pour the cake batter into the prepared loaf tin and transfer to the oven.

Bake for 40 minutes.

Once cooked, remove from oven and allow to cool in the tin. Once cooled remove from the tin and decorate with the ganache.

To make the ganache, combine the cream and dark chocolate melts in a double boiler over a low heat and constantly stir the mixture until the chocolate has melted.

Transfer to the fridge and allow to cool. Once cooled whisk the mixture until thick and fluffy and then you are ready to decorate the cake.
