Review: Well Naturally No Added Sugar Milk Chocolate

For anyone trying to cut down on added sugar without giving up chocolate completely, Well Naturally No Sugar Added Chocolate has become a popular pick. In fact, it’s now the country’s leading reduced sugar chocolate brand.

Well Naturaly No Sugar was founded in 2002 and offers a range of milk and dark chocolate products sweetened with stevia, a plant-based alternative to sugar. The chocolate contains around 80% less sugar than traditional varieties, and the small amount of sugar that remains comes naturally from ingredients like milk and fruit.

To recreate the smooth texture and flavour of regular chocolate, Well Naturally uses polydextrose (a fibre derived from corn), erythritol (a sugar substitute from the polyol family), and natural flavours that help bring out the richness of the cocoa.

The Creamy Milk variety has a soft, sweet taste that still feels indulgent, while Fruit & Nut adds chewy currants and roasted almonds for a bit of variety. Both are well suited to anyone looking for a more mindful chocolate option without sacrificing flavour.

There’s also a dark chocolate range, which is formulated to be vegan-friendly. While it may contain traces of milk due to shared equipment, it’s a suitable choice for many plant-based eaters. The entire Well Naturally range is also keto-friendly, making it accessible for those following low-carb diets.

This isn’t a sugar-free fix that feels like a compromise. For those of us trying to reduce sugar while still enjoying something sweet now and then, it’s a genuinely satisfying option.

You can find Well Naturally No Sugar Added Chocolate in the health food section of supermarkets including Woolworths and Coles, as well as independent grocers and health food stores.

Let us know if you’ve tried the range and how you think it compares to regular chocolate.

  1. I have tried this No Added Sugar Chocolate also, but didn’t quite get the same buzz as I would have liked … But being a loyal chocoholic , may take me a little more time to adjust to the different taste. Left a bit of a after taste , but in saying that… it stops me from eating too much, which in itself is a good thing…

  2. As a lover of chocolate I found this interesting and how wonderful that they have milk chocolate. I used to love dark chocolate but found it was giving me migraines so bye bye to dark and back to Milk chocky. Will have to make a special trip to woolies now 🙂

    1. Hi Mandy,
This chocolate is actually really quite good. I LOVE chocolate, and i’m a little fussy with chocolate.
I truly enjoyed this and I was buying it before I reviewed this variety.
      🙂

  3. Yum yum and double yum, is all I can say about this. Who in their right mind would knock back something with so much less sugar, but just as much flavour.
